Brunch in Detroit in the summer is one of my favorite pasttimes and with this list of places to try, it will soon be yours as well...check out the spots you shouldn't miss here and also on "THE LIST" located on my home page for activities and brunches/lunches not to miss in the D this summer.
LE PETIT ZINC
Le Petit Zinc (Corktown) - Open Monday-Saturday 10am-4pm for crepes and lunch, during the summer this place has the most magical garden in the city of Detroit.
ROSE'S FINE FOOD
Rose's Fine Food (East Side) - This is truly a hidden gem on the East Side by Pewbiac Pottery and Belle Isle. They use all local ingredients and make everything in house, including the baked goods like doughnuts, muffins, and pastries. Bangin on the Border and the Egg Sandwich are amazing. You can't go wrong at Roses. They also have a lunch menu if you're more in a lunch mood.
Addison Eatery (Midtown) - Saturday & Sunday 10am-4pm - Bourboun Apple French Toast - that's all.
GOLD CASH GOLD
Gold Cash Gold (Corktown) - Saturday & Sunday 10am-3pm - Check out brunch at GCG - you will never leave disappointed. All locally sourced food - the chicken and waffles are absolutely to die for.
Antietam (Eastern Market) - Sunday 11am-3pm - brunch here is brand new and I have not had the chance to pop in yet to check it out, but the drinks are spectacular and the space is gorgeous. Great place to stop by after the Sunday market @ Eastern Market.
Cafe 78 @ MOCAD (Midtown) - Sundays 11am-5pm - menu is constantly changing and there is always a new dj or artsy flair like a fashion, music, art, etc.
Dime Store (Downtown) - Saturday & Sunday 10am-3pm - The fries in my opinion are way better than crack fries at hopcat, so I tend to always get a side of it. They are open all week for breakfast and lunch and located right downtown, so if in Campus Martius, stop on in.
KUZZO's CHICKEN & WAFFLES
Kuzzo's Chicken & Waffles (Avenue of Fashion - Livernois) - Saturday & Sunday 8am+ - let the name speak for itself if you are down for some chicken and waffles.
Rubbed (Corktown) - Saturday & Sunday 11am-5pm - During the week, get your artisan sammies on fresh bread and on the weekends, dine in for brunch. The Egg sammie looks delish.
Selden Standard (Cass Corridor) - Saturday & Sunday 10am-2pm - Selden Standard uses all of the finest local ingredients.
ROCK CITY EATERY
Rock City Eatery (Hamtramck) - Sunday 11am-3pm
Yemans Street (Hamtramck) - Sunday 10am-3pm - Pop-up restaurant hosts brunches on Sundays' with chef Jeremy Kalmus and is also a pop up for dinners on Thursday-Saturday with changing menus. Menus are posted and you can purchase tickets as well for the dinners.
