I got to know lead singer, Lianna Vanicelli, as a co worker; HER positivity RADIATES THROUGH EVERYTHING SHE DOES. I am continuously inspired by her mindfulness and spirituality.
I saw Lianna perform for the first time at Hamtramck Music Festival’s opening night and was fan-girling SO hard!
On stage, Lianna is a kaleidoscopic flower-queen rockstar!
Lianna’s otherworldly vocals paired with Alex Kaye’s experimental sound engineering make Valley Hush a unique and exciting listen. They are getting major recognition in the music scene for their new LP, Valley Hush.
Atwood Magazine exclusively premiered the LP writing, “The Detroit duo’s unique and progressive music makes them an exciting face on the indie pop scene.”

On Thursday October 28th, Valley Hush, had an exclusive listening experience at Assemble Sound.
The premiere brought the album’s psychedelic vibe to life!
Friends and fans of the band brought brews and blankets to Assemble Sound, an old church turned recording studio in Corktown. Flowers and tea lights outlined an area on the floor, welcoming guests to get comfy on their blankets.
Lianna lead a meditation reminding us to be fully present during the experience - talk about the coolest idea ever!
Before the event, I asked, “Why a meditation-listening party?”
The response: “Our world is on sensory overload! I want to help get everyone in a clear mental state and turn off senses so they can truly tune in to the experience of listening to music and all of the layers. My favorite way to listen to music is to lay on the floor in a candlelit room so I'd like to share that with everyone in a communal space. We will be doing this in the live room at Assemble where we record in, so it's extra special.”
After the meditation, the music started and the room filled with Valley Hush’s transcendentally dreamy sound. People laid on the floor enjoying the carefree intimacy of the experience.
The album is Lana Del Rey meets Toro y Moi meets Tame Impala meets Grimes in all the best ways.
It’s easy to imagine crowds dancing to Valley Hush’s experimental pop at festivals like Bonnaroo and Coachella. They rocked the stage at 2016 Mopop, hopefully we will see them back on the line up this summer.
The record release show is on November 25th at El Club. I can't wait to get groovy with one of my favorite bands in Detroit and celebrate their next chapter!
Big things are in the works for Valley Hush. Their debut album, Valley Hush, is now available on vinyl and digital download. Make sure to check out their show at El Club in late November, click here for more info!
