Last night, Drinks X Design: Makers Edition turned Corktown’s premiere coworking space, Pony Ride, into a fabulous celebration of independent artists.

On the first floor, guests were welcomed into a swanky-winter wonderland themed room decorated by Skyy Vodka. The bar was an art piece in itself-  Skyy Infusion vodkas were on display surrounded by their rightful fruit. The bartenders kept the craft cocktails flowing and looked like gentlemen in white dress shirts and black bowties.

Guests had a choice between the “Tall Order”; Skyy Infusions, BartLeTt Pear, lemon juice and apple cider or “Skyy Madras”; Skky Infusions, Coastal Cranberry, orange juice, lemon juice, soda water. Trust me, both were delicious!

Next to the bar, Skyy ran a clever social media promotion asking guests to take a picture on the couch in a provided ugly Christmas Sweater and #Skyyholiday on their post for a free pair of Skyy Vodka cozy-socks.

On the second floor, residents of Pony Ride had their workspaces open to the public and were around to talk about their creative businesses. In a room separate from the co-op workspace, a super vibey DJ babe played soft-house while guests mingled.

Before leaving, the girls and I followed the enticing smell of roasting coffee beans downstairs to Anthology. It was my first time in the cafe'- I will definitely be back soon to enjoy the minimalistic decor and top notch coffee.

Overall, Drinks X Design was a success, it brought together a diverse mix of creatives and independent artists. Skyy Vodka's decorations added the perfect holiday touch and free cocktails made it all the more merry. I wish the event ended at 10PM instead of 8PM- but oh well, what can you do besides go to the Bronx for a night cap with your girls?

Until next time,

Sam Robinson
