Another week of glorious Detroit summer days and escapades…
Follow my adventures in art, food, fitness, and everything else The D has to offer here on J’adore Detroit; and join me in real time on Instagram (@sarahwinters) and Snapchat (sarahewinters).
If you haven’t tried a nitro iced coffee, you’re doing it wrong. Go directly to one of my fave Detroit coffee shops, Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company in Midtown and get one. Cold brew coffee is infused with nitrogen and then there’s some high pressure action before the coffee is served from the tap (like a beer). The result is an iced coffee that looks more like Guinness and tastes smoother, creamier and almost silky. It also magically kills any bitterness.
So there I was at Great Lakes over the weekend, in the midst of a small world catch up with our Brooklyn friends and incredible eyewear designers, Coco & Breezy. They were in town for an event at Detroit Wick to celebrate their collaboration with Twizzlers and Jolly Rancher.
On Monday, we joined Crain’s Detroit Business for the kick off of this year’s Detroit Homecoming event at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit. Speakers included Mayor Duggan and my very own Shawn Ward.
My mission to try the best classes in Detroit is still in effect. Next up I’m going to try Citizen Yoga downtown. I’ve heard only good things!
