FROM SULTRY BRALETTES TO CRAZY MIDI SKIRTS AND PATENT LEATHER PANTS, THIS SEASON IS FULL OF BOLD FASHION TRENDS THAT WILL HELP YOU EXPLORE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE MORE WHILE PLAYING AROUND WITH DIFFERENT MATERIALS AND DESIGNS.

We know, sometimes outfits and styles only look good in magazines – but with these tricks and outfit tips, you will pull off all of these looks, while feeling confident.

PATENT LEATHER

If leather wasn’t daring and bold enough, this season, we could see the patent leather (also known as vinyl) trend everywhere, from high end runways to fast fashion stores and vintage boutiques. It’s something different: with the high shine, glossy finish and a sturdy material, patent leather accessories, jackets and skirts need a great overall styling to look “casual”, but it’s not an impossible mission at all.

THE TRICK: Mix it with contrasting colors such as pastel pink, grey and mint blue and soft, comfy materials like cotton and wool.

FOR BEGINNERS: Start with patent leather boots or a bag and mix it with a flowy chiffon dress or blouse. For the colder days, add an infinity scarf or trench coat to your look.

FOR PROS: Rock a patent leather, black or deep brown skirt with a soft, oversized turtleneck sweater and neutral accessories. Floral embroidery and any other feminine detail can work perfectly with this trend as well.

EXTRAVAGANT MIDI SKIRTS

Because of their length, midi skirts are instantly categorized as fancy, special occasion skirts, but if you mix them with the right clothing items, they can also be perfect for a casual outfit. Their versatility offers endless styling options, but they can be quite intimidating with their length, especially if they are more extravagant with chiffon overlays, pearl embroidery or color-block designs.

THE TRICK: Don’t be afraid to play with the different styles and add a very casual sneaker or cropped leather jacket to a fancy skirt! To get the proportions right, experiment with crop tops and ¾ sleeve blouses.

FOR BEGINNERS: Choose a midi skirt with a small slit or flare at the bottom in a monochrome shade and wear it with casual details, such as denim jackets and front tie tops. For accessories, you can either match them with a pair of heels or comfy sneakers.

EMBROIDERED TOPS & DRESSES

After every Dolce & Gabbana collection, we just want to change our entire wardrobe to a collection of over the top, pearl and floral embroidered tops and dresses, wishing we could go to the local café wearing them – and with a little bit of change, it’s possible. Embroidered tops and dresses also have that very elegant flare that midi skirts do, but it’s all about finding the balance between casual and formal to make it work.

THE TRICK: Ripped jeans, sneakers, oversized coats and fun accessories, and your embroidered top or dress will look perfect for a casual day.

FOR BEGINNERS: Choose a mesh, embroidered top and rock it with a pastel coat, colorful accessories, and ripped jeans.

BRALETTES

Bralettes are on the edge of lingerie and clothing, which makes them a bit tricky to style and pull off on a daily basis, but don’t worry, we’ve got your back. When choosing the right bralette, make sure it has an additional layer and material (whether it’s lace, mesh or anything that covers and keeps everything in place) and that it fits right.

THE TRICK: Especially for the winter, mix them with hats, long cardigans and knitted skirts. Wear them with high-waisted pants or add a mesh, long sleeved blouse on top if you wouldn’t like to show too much skin.

FOR BEGINNERS: Match a cross back, velvet burgundy or deep blue bralette with neutral pants and accessories, and a hint of print with a cardigan or coat to finish your look!
