With its Detroit connection, creative food offerings, and extensive drink menu including signature cocktails, it’s one of our favorite spots to grab a bite Downriver. The Grotto is best known for the brick oven pizzas that are fired to order in their brick oven with an open flame and garnished with a dusting of parmesan. They even offer a pretty bomb gluten free crust (as far as gluten free goes!) Our faves include their classic Margherita pizza with fresh mozzarella and basil on top a classic pie and their BLT pizza topped with bacon, cheese, tomato, lettuce and a mayo drizzle. The build out of the space is awesome with stone lined walls and high benches making you feel like you're actually in a grotto!

Vic's serves classic dishes with a twist in a comfortable environment. They offer carry-out and custom catering. Their food is as beautiful as it tastes. We're big fans of their Bruschetta Pomodoro with crusted Italian toast topped with fresh mozzarella cheese and tomato basil relish with a balsamic glaze and any of their seven homemade pastas.

It is a super cozy and inviting space to chill out and have a beer or two from their list of over 20 taps. They make damn good classic versions of whiskey cocktails and offer some new school beverages that will have your tastebuds begging for more. As for the food! Our faves are the spicy "Still Fire" burger which has beer battered jalapeńo coins, and White Cheddar Mac & Cheese. Add their homemade pulled pork for the ultimate mac and cheese experience!

Auburn Cafe has been around for almost four decades serving Greek tavern-style food. They have a bunch of Greek options that will be familiar to most Metro Detroiters but what sets them apart is the awesome service, quality of food and they serve alcohol! We recommend the chicken gyro for lunch or the porterhouse steak for dinner. No matter what time of day you go, GET THE SPICY FETA DIP!

Moro's is the perfect Italian dining experience with French, Greek, and Hungarian influences. We love the Fettuccine Alfredo, be sure to get the garlic bread so you can dip into any and every bit of extra sauce. We'd also recommend the Veal Olympic, which they flambé at your table! This place gets extra points from me with over 100 wine options to choose from!

Portofino

Portofino's is known throughout the country as some of the best Italian and seafood you can get in Michigan. They also have a killer view of the water, providing a comfortable elegant dining experience. You can count on us sippin' cocktails on their patio this summer, ALL DAY. We highly recommend going on a Monday, as all wine bottles are half off!
