IT'S WINTER IN DETROIT! AND WHEN IT COMES TO THIS YEAR'S HOLIDAY MARKET, THE THEME OF IT IS THE MORE THE FREAKIN' MERRIER WITH THE MOST URBAN, TRENDY, CREATIVE ASPECTS OF OUR CITY DRAPED IN SPARKING LIGHTS.

This year’s holiday market in downtown Detroit is the hottest place to pick out the perfect gift for every member of your family. From Mom and Dad, to the acquaintance you got forced to buy a gift for in a work gift exchange, the 22 local vendors a part of the market has got you covered. While Cadillac Square provides a great place to begin your Christmas-time shopping extravaganza, it’s not the only place to find a unique present that will blow all other gifts out of the water.

There are FOUR downtown markets: Cadillac Square, Capitol Park, 1001 Woodward and Campus Martius, all of which provide individual shopping experiences that will catapult you to Santa-status. There are over thirty-five heated glass house pods and IGLOOS, trimmed with Christmas cheer, that serve as a sanctuary to local entrepreneurs selling anything from art to clothes to home goods to coffee to beer - you name it. Vendors include New Order Coffee, Not Sorry Apparel, Detroit Vintage Collective, Detroit Hustles Harder, Ferne Boutique, Fly Behavior, Cynt-Sational Popcorn Co. among many others.

All four public spaces created are to die for, our favorite being Cadillac Square and the Cadillac Bier Garten, setup like an Apres Ski LOUNGE. YES, a LOUNGE. The cutest red and green plaid, wintery warm lounge of your Christmas dreams is waiting.

After a full day of shopping, the lounge provides a haven for great drinks and good vibes that you never knew you needed. Get a drink, warm up, and shop. If that's not enough to plan between now and January 7th you might just be The Grinch.
