NUDE NAILS

It seems that no matter how crazy nail trends get, there will always be a market for a simple, understated look. This calls for a neatly filed look topped by understated colors which include nudes and off whites as well as options in opacity and shimmer.

LOGO NAILS

Got high end fashion on the mind? Why not get it on the nails too? Logos are big so think about getting your favorite fashion designer’s emblem lacquered on. To add the necessary sheen, a clean base coat and dry finish top coat are recommended.

SEMI SHINE

This can take the nude nails look to the next level allowing for slightly longer lengths and more defined color. The overall look is neat with a partial shine. This is best sported with no top coat.

PASTELS

In winter you say? Yes, we say! Pastels can work in almost any weather or climate and also provide a nude appearance but with a splash of color. Think about muted tones that provide a look that is both glossy, refined and chic. And best of all, with this look, one coat will do!

DARK METALLICS

The goth look is back, and the darker the better! Take it to a spacey place with dark metallic shades that can range from dark gray to jet black and add a high gloss top coat for maximum impact. To avoid color staining apply and good base coat before adding color.

RED

Perhaps the most classic of all nail polish colors, red is bigger and better than ever! Although this color can work on any nail length, runways are showing red complementing shorter, rounded manicures offsetting the boldness of the shade.

FROSTED

What could be better in winter than a snowy white shade? Or really any pastel tone can do in adding a luminescent, glittery look to your fingertips.

SCI-FI

An unusual look was spotted on the runway, taking a natural shade to the next level. This was created with a silver pen lining the skin around the nail, creating the appearance that the top coat stemmed from beneath the skin.

MATTED DOWN METALLICS

A new nail trend emerging are textural silvers that have been matted down. This can be created when a light silver tone is paired with a top coat and base coat to produce a matted down shine.

POP ART

This look can be created for nails with a black basecoat decorated by vibrant color shapes appearing randomly all over the base of the nail.

NAIL ART

Nail art has reemerged as a trend in recent years. This year offers some simple looks with cool and shimmery base coats topped off by silver stripping tape in stripy geometric patterns.

CUTICLE ART

Taking nail art to the next level, cuticle art is an edgy look that dictates that polishes shouldn’t be limited to the nail itself. Recent fashions show a graphic black applied along the cuticle line. To keep nails healthy, one might want to invest in a nourishing cuticle oil before attempting this.

It’s clear that fashion trends are predicted that anything goes on this season’s runway. So, whether your look is long, short, muted or crazy, this winter has a manicure that’s suited for you. Which will you choose?

xoxo,
