Nice little Saturday in and around the D
Started out my Saturday at the Post Bistro in downtown Plymouth to warm up with some @shortsbrewery and @atwaterbrewery beers and some delicious corn flake crusted French toast sticks with maple spicy bacon as a teaser. We made our way through the ice sculptures in @kelloggpark and watched all the little kids light up and dance around the park. There were food stands, a band shell, beverages, and a little ski village for kids to hit the slopes. Great place the tire the kiddies out before hitting some adult beverages.
Luckily we were sans kids so we hit up the @sardineroom for happy hour specials. Oysters, peel and eat shrimp, shashito peppers with smoked sea salt, and truffle fries. At the bar only 4-6 daily:) always a great spot and an amazing sunday Jazz brunch with unlimited mimosas
Next, I hit the road to the @palaceofauburnhills to check out this winning streak my #pistons have been on! And playing the Brooklyn Nets! We were in the palace suite and dj thornstryker was of course spinning the great jams. We even had a halftime show with Ruben studdard and felt really old as apparently he won American idol in 2003. GeeZ. Hooper did a dance routine for us and almost dropped a child, but it was entertaining. Unfortunately, no single men I the suite, so single ladies night out fail.
Next up, Detroit where we stopped into St Ceces in Corktown on Trumbull. One of the coziest and comfortable bars downtown. Great beers on tap and huge selection and Celeste knows how to feed her people. Great staff and really focused on service. I love ceces.
We then rolled over to MGM Tap restaurant and sampled some apps of which I dig the buffalo chicken dip. Rock star. I then emptied 40 bucks into penny slots and thought michael jackson was going to give me a big win, but the lady next to me scored so we moon walked away. There was a live band playing at mgm grand tonight that was actually pretty fantastic playing great cover music like kid rock, sublime, etc. I can dig it.
Now, I shall say goodnight my friends...until manana
