New Year’s Eve in only a few days away, which can leave people scrambling in search of the perfect plans. Don’t let your last night of 2018 be a flop. Whether you want to enjoy a seated dinner or get weird, here is the scoop on whats happening for NYE in Detroit.

New Year’s Eve with Grey Ghost: Ring in 2019 with the Grey Ghost crew. The evening will feature a 5-course prix fixe menu complete with lots-and-lots of bubbles at midnight. The dinner cost $75 per person with the option of adding on drink pairings. (Which I highly recommend.) The event is from 4-pm to midnight and reservations are necessary.  New Year’s Eve at the Peterboro: Celebrate NYE at the Peterboro with DJ BET on the 1’s & 2’s. For $64.95 guests can enjoy passed small plates all night, three drink tickets, a special cocktail menu (featuring Patron Silver, Pyrate rum and Ultimate vodka, as well as a full-service bar. And, of course a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.com

 New Year’s Eve at DFH: Enjoy an elevated dining experience of 5-courses of a pre-fix menu at the Apparatus Room in the Detroit Foundation Hotel. There are two seating’s available. The first seating is from 5:00pm-6:00pm for $85 per person. The second seating is from 9:00pm to 11:00pm for $125 per person. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 313-800-5600 or via OpenTable. *For guests who want to skip dinner dance to DJ Nick Speed over specialty cocktails and champagne at midnight are welcome to come sans reservation and cover charge!

 New Year’s Eve at Lady of the House: Say goodbye to 2018 at Lady of the House. There are multiple seating’s and packages. Hurry up because some have already sold out! Tickets start at $25 per person for entry after 10pm that includes: a live DJ, a glass of bubbles, party favors & late-night pizza. There are also dinner seating options starting at $125 that include a 6-course meal prepared by Chef Kate Williams. This dinner includes a complimentary glass of bubbles, but guests can add on beverage pairings for $60. Cash bar is also available. Order tickets on Eventbrite.com

 NYE at Gold Cash Gold: End the year with a bang at GCG to dinner over the sounds of DJ Nervous Recs. The menu will feature three different choices (Lamb Shank, Stuffed Pheasant, or Mediterranean Sea Bass) for shareable dishes. Sides, dessert and bottomless pours of bubbles will accompany the platters. Ticks are $70 per person for the first seating (7, 7:15 and 7:30) and $85 per person for the second (9,9:15 and 9:30.) The Motown Countdown 2019: Masonic Temple is offering three grand rooms of entertainment. The party will feature 34 VIP booths, midnight champagne stations, balloon drops and confetti storms. There will also be a live broadcast of the countdown in Times Square and DJ’s spinning hits from the 80’s, 90’s and today throughout the historic building. Tickets at $99 and can be purchased on Eventbrite.

NYE Resolution Ball: The Fillmore Detroit hosts Detroit’s most well-known annual NYE party. This Chicago-Vegas style experience features DJ’s, live broadcasting of the ball drop, and a confetti and balloon storm. There are two different options for tickets: the NYE Party Pass starting at $135 and the VIP All Access Pass for $155.

Motor City Gala: Kiss 2018 goodbye at Downtown’s Atheneum Hotel. This is a dress to the nines kind of party. Guests are required to dress in evening chic & New Year’s Hot attire. The vibe will be an upscale crowd of young professionals, singles and couples. All of which will be dancing the night away to live entertainment and live DJ’s. There will balloons, confetti, champagne and a live stream of the ball drop. Ticket packaged are available at Motor City Gala.

 Surrealist Ball at the Schvitz: Haute to Death has done it again. This party is SOLD OUT, but if you want to go bad enough, there is still room on the waitlist if you are willing to hold out for a chance at entry. Party goers will be spending a steaming NYE at the Schvitz, rocking their freakiest and glamorous masquerade attire.  

 Freakish Pleasures NYE: Celebrate the end of 2018 and the year anniversary of the Salon. This Southwest Detroit venue opens when they feel like it (and only for the best parties.) So you know you don’t want to miss this one! Get down and get weird to Claude Young, FIT Siegal, Ryan Spencer and more. Tickets are $15. Doors open at 10pm and party goes until 6am.

 Detroit Rave City: Calling at the goth and rave peeps to Leland City Club for a full rager to end to 2018. There is a wicked line of DJ’s all night long, including the sounds of DJ assault to get you moving. There will also be hoop + flow artists, a dinner buffet and balloon drop at midnight.

Bevlove at Deluxx Fluxx: Yass, Detroit’s own Bevlove is performing at Deluxx Fluxx on NYE. What’s even better, is cover is only $10. If you want to skip the hoopla of dishing out tons of money for cover, this is where you should be partying. As if Bevlove wasn’t enough reason to go, bringing in the New Year under the glow of the black lights will surely be one to remember. Tickets are available for presale at Eventbrite.

 NYE at Second Best: Detroit’s favorite not-quite-dive bar is hosting a NYE with zero cover charge. The party goes until 2am and features a car bar, a la cart food, and bottle service from Grey Ghost. My favorite part of this party is that the midnight toast will be celebrated with Miller High Life – the champagne of beer of course.

Masquerede at PJ’s Lager House: Hit up PJ’s Lager House for an out of this world night. Krillin will be bringing the chaos with their extraterrestrial sounds. Other live tunes include live entertainment from  Jemmi Hazeman & The Honey Riders and the Imagination. Cover is $10 and masquerade masks and costumes are strongly encouraged. Doors open at 8pm.

 Keep it Classy:

New Year’s Eve at the Sugar House: Class it up for the end of 2018 with a night spend indulging the craft cocktails at Sugar House. Tickets are $75 and include: Entry and reserved table (couple and singles are being encouraged to sit at the bar), party favors, appetizers, and a champagne toast at midnight. The full cash bar will be open as well. Tickets can be purchased at Eventbrite.

Family Friendly:

The Rink at Campus Martius: Looking for something to do with the kids for NYE? Bring them down end 2018 with some laps around the rink. There atmosphere will be live with holiday cheer at lights from the Christmas tree. You can stop by the Cadillac Square Lodge for hot chocolate, snacks and games.

 NYE Kid’s Countdown Beacon Park: Even little ones with an early bedtime can enjoy the NYE festivities. Beacon Park is hosting a kid’s countdown that will feature a ball drop at 6pm. There will be a wide range of activities and crafts for those of all ages.
