J'adore Detroit Does Rochester
The j’adore Detroit gals are doing a write up for SEEN Magazine on where to eat, drink, and shop in the city. What better way to dish on the city’s best spots than to explore it for ourselves.
After picking up our delectable eats for the day, we headed over to Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters of Rochester to start our work day. The coffee shop was full of people engaged in meetings and conversation. We were lucky enough to find a round table where all five of us could work on our laptops together. We were even able to invite our gal pal Jenn Lee, the lifestyle director of Detroit Foundation Hotel to come work with us for the day!
Afterward, Boris Jovanoski, Chef de Cuisine of Park 600 in the Royal Park Hotel invited us for lunch. Jenn, being a resident of Rochester filled us in on the restaurants great patio for brunching in the warmer months. But, for the rest of us it was our first time!
The restaurant just updated it’s happy hour menu and us lucky ladies got to try all the new items. We enjoyed a blue cheese dip with kettle chips, Ahi Tune Poke, and a flatbread Margherita pizza. Hands down all of us agreed our favorite dish was the Crispy Cauliflower!
We all enjoyed the food and the great service, but what amped up the experience was the board games that are available for guests to play. We decided to play the board game Clue. For most of us, it had been more than a decade since we played, and it was slightly harder than we remembered. Despite our struggle catching on to the rules of the game, we laughed the entire time!
What began as a business lady lunch (equipped with a glass of wine), turned into an afternoon of giggles over good food and fun. We even ran into our friend Shannon Lazovski of @glamourousmoms and @glameselle and her husband. It’s always fun to see friends, even better when they buy you a glass of wine!
Rumor has it Park 600 will be having BBQ and lawn games on the patio throughout the summer. So, we will certainly be back! Look for our shopping guide coming soon in SEEN Magazine to get all the scoop on Rochester’s best places.
